independent TV survey, has been in the spotlight recently. Brag by the perennial problems cause by two giant TV Networks in the

Philippines

, the ABS-CBN and GMA 7. Although exposing such monstrous scheme is a good agenda to educate the people but it has its side effects.

Philippines is slowly been noted as “the land of cheaters”, which makes me angry to the bones, but our history foothold its title ship, not to mention the ever popular allegation against the current Philippine President “cheating” during her presidential election shaken our country ‘til these days.

So what does survey do in the first place? Well, there are tremendous benefits surveys can give to a certain TV Network, on top of the list (as layman’s perspective), they can be the basis of how high you can ask for payment on a certain company who wish to advertise their product to your TV station. The higher the rating earns means more people watch the show, the more advertisers wish to advertise, the more money they can generate.

If the report/news were true, therefore, GMA 7 is in badly shape, craving to survive in the aroma of ABS-CBN monopolizing scheme, that’s why ABS are too radical is suing the AGB but failed to succeed. From big stars migrating to their camp (big salaries) to credible news reporters (VisMin wonderful massive exposure), how can GMA 7 survive? Monopoly is bad for the country. Surely, both TV stations are worth watching but if everything was in popularity contest, all of us are doomed!

I admire GMA 7 for competing to ABS-CBN and vise versa but cheating should not be a choice!
